Spring brings early flowers and late snow showers to the Northeast!

With one of the most unpredictable winters on record the Northeast has seen highs in the 80's in February and now a freak snow storm when area ski resorts have already called it quits.  It seems too early to tell total snow falls across Vermont, however, comments on FamousInternetSkiers.com and amongst the KLmountainshop.com crew have seen anywhere from 15-24" and counting.  

Our fiercest crew member, Phil Bruno, got this shot of said buddy Henry early today at Stowe.  No need to worry about the crowds, they got fresh tracks early today.  It appears like this new snowfall has a chance to stick around for the remaining week so go get yours before it gets Bruno'd.

Spring 2012 Fashion Week ReCap: The Outdoor Edition

Even Catapillars Like to Camp: The Eastern Tent Catapillar is already out and ready to explore

According to University of Kentucky Agricultural College researchers, the Eastern Tent Catapillar will havealready been enjoying this early spring.  The name of this furry catapillar is no mistake.  It refers to the 'tentlike' cocoon they weave to hatch their young.  Scholars maintain that Eastern Tent Catapillars thrive in conditions around 37 degrees or warmer but are able to resist below freezing temps.  Sounds like a few of our buddies at KLmountainshop.com.  The following is a link to the random article that we read: Eastern Tent Catapillar Egg Hatch Under Way in Central Kentucky
